St. Marys Euchre tournament and dance takes place this (Thursday) evening at 8 o’clock. The final tournament for thi s season will bo held next Wednesday when the winners of the two aggregate prizes will be announced. 'Supper provided floor in perfect ordei and four valuable prizes for competition.—Advt. In another column is an important announcement of the sale by auction by Messrs W. Jeffries nd Co. on Thursday Dec. 20th. at the mart, of valuable mining properties of the Mont D’Or Gold Mining Company in liquidation. They comprise very valuable water rights under old titles, which have far greater privileges than water rights now obtainable. The Greymouth Nurses who assisted so very successfully at the patriotic entertainment in the Princess Theatre last evening, showed their desire to help in any practical way apart from , visiting Hokitika on their special mission. The lades all refused to accept any Contribution to .their expenses electing to pay their own way and so save this fund any expenses on their account. It was an act very much appreciated by the Musical Club and will help to swell the profits which promise to reach very satisfactory dimensions. Tlic visitors from Greymouth speak very highly of their reception and entertainment at Hokitika and were delighted to lend their aid in supporting the local patriotic movement.
