NECKLETS OF PEAS.
, PARIS September 30. The rage for bead here has been succeeded by another. Strange to say the new mode is less expensive even than its precursor. The fashionable necklace, which is some yards in long-es, is made of beans, peas, or the kernels of fruits. The kernels of plum stones, cherries, apricots, and peaches are also used for these necklets. The bean s are pierced and threaded on string and left to dry. They are then painted with fantastic designs, in various colours. TRo peas are dabbed with colours of contrasting shades. The smaller stone, s are merely dyed in various crass colours.
Feminine Paris has returned homo with large assortments of these accessories, fruits of long hours spent in the country. Each toilette has chains to match and they certainly lend a bright note to the general appearance.
