ITALIANS MAKE CAPTURES,

(Received this day at 1.30 p.m.) ItO'MjE November 20. The Austrians are making desperate attacks in many places. On the night of the 17th. the Liguari brigade defeated heavy, infantiy attacks. Th© ißersagleri brigade and other troops in the Zensen loop and the Fagado zone also-drove back the Austrians capturing 1,251 officers, and men, and 27 machine guns.

The Austrians had crossed witu wm aid of a wire rope dragging themselves through the currents . The Italians were driven back at first, after desperate bayonet fighting; but they were reinforced and not w«*jr drove the Austrians from the western bank of the Piave but from the m.ge island in the mid-stream, which they had held for some days.
