GISBORNE ARSON CHARGES.
PARNELL DISCHARGED
DODS COMMITTED
[PER PRESS ASSOCIATION.—COPYRIGHT.] Gisborne, Nov 16 The case of Frank Parnell, charged with setting fire to the Gas Works office, was" before the Magistrate this morning. Mr Burton, S.M.. held that a prima facie case had not been made out, and discharged the accused.
John Sheriff Dods, another employee of the Company, was charged with embezzling various amounts. The total involved, between March 1915 and May T 916, being £17 1 3Accused pleaded guilty on the first of a series of charges, and was committed for sentence.
Accused was also charged with arson.
