HIGH WATER.—NOVEMBER.

PORT OF HOKITIKA The s.s. Defender (Captain Vasta) sailed last, evening at 9 o’clock for Mirama with a full cargo of timber. She leaves AVellington again on Tuesday for Picton and Hokitika. The s.s. Paeroa (Captain Jamieson) made a quick trip to Okarito and hack, arriving at 6.30 o’clock last evening. She brought up as passengers Mrs G. Friend and child and Mrs Flewellyn and child. The latter child had been brought up to receive medical attention as the result of its fingers being crushed, one badly, in a door. The Paeora sails to-night- at 8 o’clock for Okuru, Paringa and Bruce Bay.

The Regulus leaves Onehunga on Saturday for Nelson and Coast direct.

ItNION COMPANY'S LINE. The Mapourika arrived at Grey mouth this morning and sails agan at 7.30. p.m. or Westport, Nelson and Wellington. The Pohorua arrived at Greymoutli last night from. Wellington and sails again to-nght for Lyttelton, coal laden. The Kowhai leaves Onehunga today for Greymoutli direct to load timber for Miramar. The Ki ttawa leaves Dunedin to-‘day for Greymoutli to lod coal and timber for Timaru and Oamaru.
