Tile articles on exhibition are the result- of a 66 hour course of instruction at, the Technical School to nunils of the fourth, fifth and sixth classes of Hokitika State School. The instructor. Mr. Judkins, is now eomnleting bi s first vear’s course of instruction at the local school, and the results of his tuition are to he seen to some extent- in the present display, .which parents and others interest ‘•iiould not fnjl to inspect. The articles comprise book shelves, reel stands, te-i tnvs. flower pot. stands, and many other useful articles for the liouse’’oVl.. It is announced in this issue that Mr. W. Gooch lias now established a regular motor service between Jackson ••nd Hokitika, connecting with the Overland daily service from Christchurch on Tuestlnv and Thursday ovoniners. This service will run regularly and M»Gooch is prepared to arrange for special trips on other days to eonnecT with the overland service outward or inward, as well as tours to South Westland and other parts of the district. Mr. Goocli has a Buick car and a Marathon car alwavs at call, and the new garage at the Red Lion Hotel will be his headquarters, 'where orders may he left or seats hooked for trips to all parts of the district, day or night, and the service will he found a reliable one. Tlio business will he under the personal management of Mr. Gooch who is a careful and expert driver, anti has an, 'excellent knowledge of the roads and tour s in the Westland district.
