I The Londoners and dismounted Yeomanry made, a dashing attack on the 31st. and gained the whole first line of defences at Beershebn, the fighting lasting all day long. The Turks at (evening held the trenches a mile to the eastward.. The Fourth Australian Light Horse charged these which were eight feet deep ,and four wide galloped over them ending all resistance. GOOD STAFF WORK. LONDON November 13. General Allenby concludes: The tanks successfully co-operated with the Scottish and East Afghans capturing Gaza, the first line of the defences. Two Turkish divisions attempted to cut the Beersheba: wAtersupply. SEVERE FIGHTING
DESPERATE RESISTANCE.
LONDON, Nov. 14
[ Egyptian Headquarters reports: On Tuesdav there wa s severe fighting in the vicinity of Wadi Since yesterday the enemy rearguard is putting up a desperate resistance fighting along a considerable front. According to latest reports, our men m»d« an important advance, b-nging them within seven miles of Rambah, yhtch is the centre of the Turkish position. Our left nushed across the Wadi Ruhim and occupying tho important hamlet of Yanileh, reached Kublibeth. q'he Turks are offering a stubborn resistance in front of our right and centre, which, nevertheless, gained considerable ground. Prisoners total over six thousand, with ninety guns.
