Tlie murderer who . perpetrated the frightful tragedy is still at large,* al though the net seems to he gradually drawing around him. The police are diligently following up the clue of the man who passed the Runangn lady on theWeven-Mile road, riding a bicycle and carrying bags which resembled the description of those containing the stolen money. She did not see the man’s face as he turned from her. ■ A contingent of police arrived by the Otira train last evening. They will assist to relieve the local men, who have been on duty continually since neon of Friday last. ' WILLIAM HALL’S CONDITION. •Enquiry at the hospital just before t midnight, last night, elicited the cheer- ! ing news that the slight improvement noticeable in Air. Hall’s condition yesterday morning was being maintained, hut the danger was by no means over. | NO ARREST. GREYMOLTTH, This Day. I No arrest lias been made in connection with Friday’s highway robbery. Police reinforcements have arrived and a diligent search of the bush continues. 1 Hall’s condition is sl.ghtly improved, but it is still very critical.
