WEDNESDAY NOV. 7th

The following business affecting the West C'-oast was included in the business sheet dealt with : The Blackball Committee ashed the Board to carry out urgent repairs, as the residents are unable at present to raise the £3OO promised.—Resolved: that Mr. Grimmoncl and the Foreman visit Blackball to report on most necessary work, and to interview the Committee regarding the help the residents are prepared to give. , The Department again declined to grant permission to the Board to purchase the 2i acres offered by the Public Trustee.—Received : that the letter ho received and a copy sent to the Cobdon School Committee. The Woodstock Committee suggested that local labour he employed in carrying out repairs at the School.—The Foreman to bo asked if the request is reasonable.

The Woodstock Committee renewed the- application for the condemnation of the teacher’s residence and for the erection of a now residence on a more convenient site.—Resolved that copy of the teacher’s letter dealing with this matter be sent to the Department and that the Department he urged to grant permission to sell the residence and pay house allowance to teacher.

The Commissioner of Crown Lands stated that probably a School site could be obtained in the Acclimatisation Reservo at Kanieri Lake.—Application to be made to the Minister of Lands for school site of two acres as suggested in the Commissioner’s letter.
