The question of the education of children in hospi a's came before the hoard in the form of a letter from the North Canterbury Hospital Board, enclosing a communication from Dr Fox, medical siiperint.enkent of the Christchurch Hospital. Dr Fox expressed die opinion that children did not remain in a hospital sufficiently long to warrant the appointment of a teacher, and, further, that most chi Id - ren, uuder such circumstances, were not in the mental health and vigour to be able to sustain lessons. The hoard decided to receive the letter and to thank the Hospital Board for the information. Mr C. S.
