The Nowwegian newspaper “Tidens Tegn” in givng del-ails of the sinking of the convoy in the northeast on the 17th. says -the German cruisers and torpodoers advancing down each side, swept' the, convoy with all guns at a range of less thaU 200 yards. Not content with sinking the ships, they shelled the life boats, every living thing coming in their way being mercilessly slaughtered. The survivors owed their lives to the rough sea, making the boats a difficult mark. After disposing of the Brtish the German 'cruised 'backwards -Mid forward along the sinking vessels, pouring in a full rain of shells at 100 yards range.
