The American artillery are shelling the Germans.
According to other advices from American Headquarters in France tne* announce that troops have been sent to a quiet sector on the French front for a continuation of training. They will form the nucleus of groups for instruction for latter contingents arriving from America. Tlie troops are satisfactorily adapting themselves to their new conditions.

The United Press correspondent at the American headquarters reports that the “Sammies” are fighting alongside the poilus and the greatest comaraderio exists.
The infantry are restlessly awaiting the murderous advance. They marched through tile streets ot nightfall some, singing “Tipperary” in an undertone. ’Pin* Americans are displaying etlie greatest enthusiasm. ° The first sheet of the base used by the battery has been sent to President Wilson.
