At the meeting of the Greymouth Borougli Council on Thursday evening, a letter read from the Minister in charge of the Stamp Department acknowledged the Council’s request for a branch of the Stamp Duties Department at Greymouth and intimated representations !h that direction would receive consideration. The news of the .double bereavement will cause a wave of further sorrow in the community and, the deepest sympathy will be extended tothebereav ed family and relatives in this their sad hour of trial. The funeral of the husband and wife takes place to-mor-row afternon. The members of the family from South Westland are expected to arrive this afternoon.
