LONDON, Oct. 20.
Six or seven airships attacked the eastern and north-eastern counties, and proceeded some distance inland; but there were no very definite attacks. Bombs were dropped at various points, including a few in the London arav. Latest reports show that twenty-seven were killed, and fifty-three injured.
There was some material damage to hbus.e.s and business places.

LONDON, October 20
A feature of last night’s air raid over Ijondon was the silence and absence of excitement. The residents of many suburbs were' unaware of tile raid.
Official warning was given early to. tho people and several hours passingeventless, they left their shelters and went to their homes. The night wa&. calm and hazy. The first shells fell about midnight, one killing five persons.
•Some provincial centres wore visited hut the raiders were uncerthi n of their whereabouts, and dropped’ many bombs in a field. One dropped on the outskirts of a town and crashed through the ceiling of a -workman’:; house, killed the mother and injuuedl two daughters.
