General Haig reports that Irish regiments made a successful raid northeast of Croiselles. There was great reciprocal artillery activity, and despite the mist there is extensive aerial activity. Our pianos bombed the foundry and railway junctions north-west of Saarbrucken, fires following. Many scouts attacked a bombing squadron, four of them were brought ~ down. On Saturday bombs were dropped on aerodromes nt Courtrai and Renders station, Cortemarck and various billets and hutments. At ißoulers a bomb destroyed a grounded machine a second fell through the centre of the hangar. Meanwhile our scouts operating in the neighbourhood brought down seven enemy machines.

A ton of bombs wore dropped on tnglemunste 'aerodrome and railway station, where direct hits were obtained on a machine endeavouring to leave the ground. During the day thirteen enemy machines were brought down. HAIG’S OPERATIONS. Deceived. tMs day at 8.45 a.m. LONDON. October 22. General Haig reports early this morning we carried ’out local attacks astride of Ypres and Rmaden railway. The French co-operated on our left. Progress is reported as satisfactory. FRENCH OPERATIONS. TjONDON, October 21. . A French communique reoorts violent artillery struggle at various points on the Aisne front, especially in the region of Ailles and Corny. A strong enemy attack north-west of Boson vnnx was driven off after violent fighting. Enemy aeroplanes drooped sixty bombs in the region of Dunkirk this evening. FRENCH OPERATIONS. LONDON, Oct.' 22. A French communique says we attacked thiß morning in Belgium on a front of a kilometre and captured all tjhe objectives. We appreciably progressed north of Vordoex and took prisoners.

Our scouts penetrated the enemy line at various points south-wost of Sl'. Quentin, near Minnejean farm. In Panthion, in region of Tahure the artillery duel continued in the entire Aisne front.
