LONDON, October 16. A wireless Russian official says: A German dreadnought shelled a patrol squadron off Soelasand, and damaged pnet a torpedo. Subsequently twelve German torpedoes ot the newest typs penetrated Soelasand engaged the patrol sqadron, and sank the vessel already damaged. The bulk of the crew were saved. We sank an enemy torpedocr, and others of our warships appearing, tho enemy turned back. The fleet commander testifies to the good firing and stubborn spirit of the crews. Eye witnesses stato that twe .German torpodoers were sunk and two damaged. The Germans have been reinforced and continue to develop their success at Oesel Island. They are endeavouring to oapturo the batteries at flhe entrance to the Gulf of Riga. - A wireless German official message says: We are in full possession of the main portion of Oesel Island. The Russians are isolated o n the Sworbe peninsula, but still desperately resisting. Only portions of the enemy who were east on tho const, escape-' in the direction of Moon Island. We took prisoner 3,400 and captured thirty guns and some aeroplanes, and occupied the islands of Rnno and Abroa.

Additional confusion is causowing to Bolsheviks insisting on summoning an all Russian Congress of Soviets on 2nd November, with the object of over-throwing Government and placing the power in the Soviets hands.
