The mobilisation of the 3'sth Reinforcements began to-day at Trentham and Featherston. A /arge body «i Canterbury men were the first infantry to' enter tho camps. Otagoans go to-morrow, and the Wellington and Auckland drafts on Thursday and Friday respectively.

Tn the Magistrate’s Court Louis Meads, of Raetihi, was fined £ls and costs for shooting Native pigeons out of season ,in Tongariro National Park. Two half-castes for siimfilar offences were fined £lO and £5 respectively.
THE POST OFFICE COMMISSION
AUCKLAND, October 16
A large meeting held under the Huispices of alio Protestant Political Association to-night- passed a resolution protesting against the finding of the Past Office Commission in that it was against the weight of evidence, and that the evidence disclosed that the censorship on Box 942- was unwarrantable and that the censorship operated in the interests of the Roman Catholic Church. Tlie meeting also protested' against the refusal of Cabinet- to appoint a Supreme Court Judge to conduct the enquiry and demanded that the Government should immediately remove the censorship from Box 912. SUPPLY OF SHIPS. WELLINGTON October 14. Questioned regarding the shipping supply for 'overseas Mr. Massey states —“We cannot look far forward but tho shipping outlook between now and the middle of December is good. DUNEDTN, Oct. 15.—Samuel Croggan. an Imperial gunner on board, a steamer at- Port Chalmers, has been missing since 11 p.m. on Saturday. Tbe watch on an adjacent steamer heard a splash , about 11.30. Oreggan’s clothes were found on the vessel.
