COST OF LIVING Air Stat-ham, Chairman of the Cost of Living Committee, laid on the table tlm report of tho Committee. Tbo 'principal recommendation is that- a Food Controller be appointed, and given wide power to purchase food stuffs at market values, and sell at lowest prices, the loss to be made up from tlm Consolidated Fund.
Air fcjidey moved an amendment that the report be referred ’back to the •committee to reconsider the above recommendation.
The debate was continued till 2.30, when the amendment- was put and carried on the voices, and the reportreferred hack. Tho Hons.- then rose.
