TO-NIGHT “NAKED HEARTS
. The big attraction for To-night’s production is »■ Bluebird plioto play Do Lux entitled “Naked Hearts” and featuring that great emotional artist Ruplierb Julian in six big reels. The story in brief is as follows; Aland a little girl of four lives with her brother Howard, and her father Cecil Lane, a little hoy of Howard’s age lives on ail adjoining estate. Mr. Dane calls on -.aud’s father. The children are playing oil the lawn. Cecil has brought Maud a basket of white kittens. How-j arcl is jealous. The father sees Maud* and Cecil wandering together and they betroth the hoy and girl over tlie.ir glasses. A few days later Mr. Lone loses all his money and comm its suicide'. His family move to a hummble house, and Howard taunts (Veil with hi. ; poverty, Maud is sent to . school and Cecil sinks down on the road in childish grief. Years later Cecil is a violin teacher, Aland returns hut does not recognise hint. Later they meet and love grows between them. Aland’s father trie's to compel Afaticl to wed Lord Lovelace, hut she refuses. However she. consents to a betrothal and a hall is «*iven. On this night Cecil pei- s uades her to elope with him, Lovelace finds a note that Aland has dropped and with Howard prevents the elopement. Cecil and Howard quarrel and fight a duel. Maud hears a shot and rushes to the Garden and sees her brother lying bleeding.- She sends Cecil awn.v in a flash of hate. Cecil escapes from the village thinking he, has killed Howard. Howard recovers, and Aland learns from Cecil’s mother that he Ims fled. Cecil goes to another city .where eventually his talent is recognised as he composes a wonderful s ong. Civil war breaks out and Cecil and . Lord ■ Lovelace enlist. The latter is mortally wounded and sends Cecil back to Afaud to await him. Aland hofars that Cecil has been killed and enters a Convent and he arrives too late to dissuade lier from becoming a nun. He is heart-broken and continues to play bis -masterpiece: “Come Tnto the Garden Aland” mournfully. A splendid range of supports land the Full Orcehstraw ill eommplete the Bill.
