ITALIAN STEAMER SUBMARINED

ATHENS October 15
A German submarine torpedoed the Italian steamer Kari and sank several lifeboats. Fifty survivors havo gone to Italy. A number of Greek officials were aboard tho Kari coining home via Switzerland.
There is no news of their fate. It is believed that the Germans knew they were aboard though espionage is rife in Switzerland.
