TUESDAY: “NAKED HEARTS”

The big attraction for Tuesday’s production is «• Bluebird photo 1 play Do Lux entitled “Naked Hearts” and featuring. that great emotional artist Ruphert Julian in six big reels. The story in brief is as follows: Maud a little girl of four lives with her brother Howard, and her father Cecil Lane, a, little hoy of Howard’s age lives on an adjoining estate. Mr. Lane calls on -.aud’s father. The children arc playing on the lawn. Cecil has brought Maud a basket of white kittens. Howard is jealous. The father secs Maud and Cecil wandering together and they betroth the hoy and girl over their glasses. A few days later ATi\ Lone loses all his money and commits suicide. His family move to a huinmbic house, and Howard taunts Cecil with hi s poverty, Maud is sent to school and Cecil sinks down on the road in childish grief. Years later Cecil is a violin teacher, Aland returns ( but does not recognise him. Later they meet and love grows between them.. Maud’s father tries to compel Maud to M’ed Lord Lovelace, hut she refuses. However she consents to a betrothal and a hall is given. On this night Cecil persuades her to elope with him. Lovelace finds a note that Maud lias dropped and with Howard prevents the elopement.. ’Cecil and Howard quarrel and fight a duel. A laud hears a shot and rushes to the Garden and sees her brother lying bleeding. She sends Cecil a.way in a flash of hate. Cecil escapes from the village thinking he has killed Howard. Howard recovers, and Aland learns from Cecil’s mother that he has fled. Cecil SOCs to another city where eventually his talent is recognised as lie composes a wonderful s<mg. Civil war breaks’ out and Cecil and Lord Lovelace enlist. The latter is mortally wounded and sends Cecil back to .Maud to await him. Aland hears that Cecil has been killed and enters a Convent and ho arrives too late to dissuade her from becoming a nun. He is heart-broken and continues to play his masterpiece “Come. Into the Garden Aland” mournfully. A splendid range of supports land the Full Orcehstra will commplete the Rill.
