Bowling Club members aye requested to attend at tho green to-morrow afternoon when lop-dressing will take place. The Lady Liverpool Committee desire to acknowledge the. receipt of £1 from Air. Monk of Kokatabi for the Soldiers Christmas Dinner Fund.
Tho Post-master General in reply to a question by Mr. Witty, stated in the House that the. Union Steamship Company ijs paid a subsidy of £20,000 per annum for the service between Auckland and Vanootuvefr. The contract has iust been extended for twelve months. Provision is made therein for tho company if it. considers it (expedient, to extend any voyage to ■!& i port or ports in Australia. The contract does not oblige the vessels employed to victual in Auckland.
