LATE VOCALS.
Mrs. J. Muir of Three Milo has been advised that her son Private Percy Muir has been wounded having a gunshot wound in the spine. The soldier who ia one of the three sons on servioo went with the 21st Reinforcements. Mr. Walter Paterson, who died in Dunedin on Friday in his ninety-first year, will be best remembered among his late fellow citizens for his educative work among the Chinese. He was the eldest son of the Rev. Dr. Nathaniel Paterson, of Nee. St. Andrews was trained in the Exchange Bank at Glasgow. He came to to New Zealand in 1858 and took charge of the Hokitika School in the days of provincialism. In 1870 ho joined the staff of the Otago Boys’ High School.
