A meeting of the Rugby Unioji delegates from various parts of ilie country passed a resolution that, as the English Cnion’s rules re professionals, were .trained to suit the conditions twenty years ago, this conference is emphatically of the opinion that the New Zealand Union should have power to formulate such additional rules re professionals as shall he more in keeping with the local requirements.

Supporters said that the war hull so changed tilings by allowing members and professionals to play together, but if the present rules were enforced many men at Urn front would be debarred from playing Rugby. There was some opposition, but the motion was carried bw 1(5 to 9, also one to make an immediate application to the English Union for the powers the Union sought.
