A meeting of women on Saturday re presenting many societies, passed resolutions urging local bodies to mainprovision throughout the country lor the efficient, free, confidential D’eatnient venereal diseases, without penal or deterrent conditions, and urging a noil-compulsory principle lor treatment to he observed, in all eases, no attempt being made to enforce treatment by isolation or detention on any pauper prisoner or other person suffering from venereal disease, also that the meeting endorses Hie opinion of the British Royal Commission that if the disease is to be stamped out ft isneeessarv not only to provide medical means lor combating them, but to raise the moral standards and practices of the community as a whole.
