FINDING OF THE COURT. [l*mt I‘UKHH ASSOCIATION. —COPYRIGHT.] VVEI,LINGTON, This Dnv. The nautical court of enquiry about the sinking of tlie. l'ort Kombla found that the vessel was loaded under conditions showing proper care for safety of the vessel and crew. In the opinion of tin* court the weight of evidence showed that the explosion was internal and due to placing of a quantity of high explosive in the after part of No 1. lower fore hold of between decks. .Such an net must have been deliberate and done with the intention of destroying the vessel and crew. The tre mendous force of the explosion and extent of damage done indicates that the quantity of explosives used was considerable. hut there is no definite evidence to guide the court into determining its nature with any certainty.
