With the conference or the Cabinet and the Miners’ representatives now sitting a satisfactory agreement is hourly expected. Since the Strike Committee formally declared the strike off on Wednesday night and the waterside workers almost simultaneously decided to resume the outstanding difficulty has been the coal position, and although the men reported for work very little was available owing to the shortage of coal. It is anticipated that with the settlement of this trouble the seamen will resume forthwith.
