The Press Bureau reports: Aeroplanes attacked the south-east coast last evening at different places in Kent and Essex. A few machines followed up the Thames and attacked London. The first moved eastward, tho second and third keeping nearer London. , The anti-aircraft guns were exceedingly efficient, the extensive barrages driving the raiders off the centre. The Press Bureau reports the antiaircraft gunfire drove the group of the aeroplane raiders which approached London last night. Only one or possibly two penetrated the defence. Tho caualties are now reported at fifteen killed and seventy injured. The material damage is not great. The enemy airships crossing Yorkshire and Lancashire coasts did not penetrate far inland. They attempted to approach the various defended localities but the gun fire drove them off. They dropped bombs on a coast town and slightly injured ’three women. Jage was done. A little damage was done.
