“WHERE ARE MY CHILDREN.” if , PRINCESS THEATRE TO-NIGHT The New Zealand film censor’s order prohibiting the admission ol children under the ago of 18 years to the picture presentation of “Where are My Children:-'” which is to he shown under the direction of Air. E. J. Carroll at the Princess Theatre to-night is not indicative of there being anything in the picture that is likely to offend tin* susceptibilities. but simply that he considers the subject beyond the understanding. The film is naturally very direct in its treatment of a theme not usually discussed publically and the management says “Why not.” “Let then' he light” is a sound Biblical precept. The screen has . . . .decided power. It would certainly he impossible to treat this subject on the stage with the same telling effect. “Where are My Children?” is acted by a company specially chosen,by the authoress. At the head stands the fatuous dramatic actor Tyrone Power. Tt is said to bo true to type in every characterisation. The story is framed in luxurious surroundings which makes the lesson fill the more striking. ’l'lie success of its mission is evidenced by the wide interest it is creating. The.popularity of .llie'picture with the public lias been so great that big successes achieved by former fa vouritios. pales bv comparison into insignificance. Tn 40 out' of II towns in which the picture has been exhibited in New Zealand it has shown to record attendances completely eclipsing "Intolerance,” “Quo Vadis.” anil all other big features. THE -VIOLET DANDIES. The Violet Bandies who surprised the theatre-going public of GreVlTiouth will make their appearance in "Hokitika a"t the Princess Theatre on Tuesday evening. The company has been under the • direction of Ai r Tom Pollard for some time, so those who attend will go away more than satisfied that the Dandies are a clever combination. The programme will contain choruses, solos duets and gems from modern operas, etc.
