WOUNDED SOLDIERS

CABLE ADVICE OP I'ROOBESS j Mr. J. W. Raymond, chairman of the Hospitality Committee of the New Zealand War Contingent. Assoc fat ion, writes from Londn aS' follows: “Although the military are most prompt in advising the nearest of kin as to any trouble which overtakes those in France, in whom they are interested I am persuaded by the scores of cables, which T privately receive from friends through tlie* Dominion that a great number of parents and wives of the wounded or invalided desire more regular information. T am sure the military cannot be expected to do more than they are doing. I have, therefore,; arranged that any relative in New Zealand who may desire to ascertain the condition of son or husband to cable to “Tenakoutu, London," accompanying the enquiry with a prepaid reply, a'nd the latest information will be promptly supplied. Ulie New Zealand War Contingent Association’s card index system is as perfect as it is possible to be. The hospital visitors report twice a week as to tlie condition of the patients of which records are kept, so those who make use of this channel will, T am confident, obtain the most recent in formation.” The following specimen cable is forwarded by Air. Raymond:— - Tenakoutu, London. Report (surname only). : The reply will be: Response : Interpretation : Dangerous. Very Til. ( Hopeless. No hope of Recovery. Improving. Every hope of recovery.
