yarding and the quality on the whole was good. The demand was equal to last week. Steers sold to £24 70s; medium. £l6 to 1TB; best heifers, £l4 to 617 lbs; ordinary £ll to £lO. Cows £lO lbs to £l6.
Store cattle.—There was a large yard inn-, including several dealers lines from the South, which were unsold, owing to the excessive reserves. Hie demand for local cattle was good. A line of bO, 3-yoar old steers sold at .£l2 us : 29 extra good Hereford heiiYrs at £l2: 3vear old steers, backward, £9 17s 6d to £lO 2s (3d; yearlings £u us to £(> 17s (id. Dry cows sold up to £lO. \
Fat sheep.—There was a larger yarding than last week, but smaller ' than normal. Prides although easier than Inst week, were fully up to previous markets. A large number of Southland sheep were offered. Best wethers sold to 5(Ss ; prime 45s to bis (id : medium. 60s to (0s (id. Very few ewes were varded.
Store sheep.—There was a small entry and good demand for all classes. Rest wethers sold from 38s to 40s (id ; best hoggets, 28s Od to 325; best ewes 33s to £2 6s (id; Inferior sorts were above normal.
