PRESTON YARDS SALE. GREYMOUTH, Sep. 18. At Preston Road Centred Saleyards yesterday Mark Sprot and 00. report as follows:—50 cattle and "233 sheep w ere yarded for sale. We sold on account of Mr E. Robinson, Teremakau I fat cow at £ll 12s 6d; on account of Mr W. Jamieson, Arahura, 2 fat heifers at £l2 10s, 2 fat steers at £ll 10s; 2 springing heifers at £7 12s 6d, yearlidg stoers and heifers at £4 ss; on acoount of Mr Clayton, Ahanra, S fat bullocks from £l6 10s to £l4 7s 6d; on account of client, 4 fat cows at £l6, 3 at £l2 7s 6d to £l2; on account of Mr It. Diedrioh, Kokatfthi, 10 primo heavy bullocks from £23 2s 6d to £l7 2s 6d„ 6 primo heifers from £l6 to £ll 17s 6d; on account of clients (various), .103 prime, wethers and ewes from Canterbury at 44s 6d, 50 mixed sheep from Tnangahua were passed unsold at 30s 9d. being unconditioned and nnsuitable for the trade. Ono bull made. £10; 3 dairy cows £lO ! 10s. 7 ditto £9 10a, 2 steers £6 10s, 1 ! agod cow £6 17s Gd. I The' demand for hcof was unsatisfied. Most of the dairy stock was offered and nassed at auction, the enquiry being 3imited, ultimately tho yards being cleared of this line at greatly reduced prices on late sales.
