Tho State Department has issued a statement showing that von Eckhardt the Gorman Ambassador in Mexico City, has recommended the German Government to decorate Creuliolm, the Swedish Ohargo d’Affairs in Mexico City. Von Eckhardt’s intercepted letter stated that Crenholm had sineo his arrival not disguised his sympathy with Germany. “Ho is. the only diplomat from whom information regarding the enemies can bo obtained. He acts as intermediary in official diplomatic intercourse from me to Germany. He goes personally to the telegraph office, sometimes late at night to lodge telegrams. I recommend that the Crown order a second-class, but so as not to excite the enemies’ suspicion the decoration, should not ho announced till after tho war.”
