"POKING HIS NOSE IN"

A great hubbub was caused by cries of "Order!” in tho House this afternoon when Mr. Payno started a question in the following terms: —"Is it a fact that tho Governor-General is allowed to poke his nose ” ‘When members' protests had ditnl down, Mr. Speaker said: "The lion member must discontinue this. I will not allow it to be road further until I've seen it.” Mr. Payne: There’s nothing further. Mj\ Speaker: Then the lion member must'resume his seat. Mr. Payne compiled, but a moment 'later asked: "Is there any objection to putting it in thie way?” Mr. Speaker declined to hoar the alternative form instructing the member to submit the question for his consideration privately.
