(Received This Day at- 9.-50. a.m.) LONDON, Sept. 14.

The Admiralty reports a naval auxiliary was struck by a torpedo, in th* enginoroom and several compartment* being flooded. A poriscopo and conning, tower appeared, and we fired, bitting tho perisoepo, while many other hits wore observed.

Several men'came out of the hatch ot the submarine aleaft of the conning tower.

Tho submarine wallowed along, the stem almost submerged, with oil squirt ing from the sides. Tlie crew waved to surrender and we ceased fire, upon which the submarine started off at a fair speed.

We fired again, and the enemy fell on it g side, and slowing, disappeared end up.

Two survivors were picked up We reached harbour.
