At essrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding the above sales on Wednosdav:—

Fat Cattle.—There was a small yarding and the quality wu s only medium. Prices were fully up to last week. Best steers sold from 619 to £23 Ids; ordinary £l6 Ids to £l7 Ids; heifers £l4 to 616 Ids; cows £l2 to £l6 ss.

Store cattle.—There was a fair yarding the demand was equal to late sales. Several dealers lines were .passed in, Jnit the hulk of the yarding was sold. Three-year-old steers sold at £ls ss. to .61.1 6s; yearlings to 18 months, £5 Ids to 67 17s for extra quality. Two vear heifers 66 ss. to £7 2s fid.

Fat sheep.—-There was the smallest market recorded lor a long while, and prices, consequently, were very high, hut nothing of outstanding 1 quality ya,riled.- Ale consider .the prices all round atUwo shillings advance on last week. The small market was only the outcome of inclement weather and we can hardly put impute a repetition nejet week. . '

Store sheep.—There was :i small entry, mostly comprising wethers and hOg gets, which sold at advanced rates on last weeks market. Best, wethers 36s to 31s 6(1; host wethers 25s fid to 30s; best ewe hoggets 33s fid to 34s 4d; host young ewes up to 40s.
