Senator Pearce .announced the proposal for the curtailment of sports The Metropolitan race meeting in Vie toria will be reduced by 20 meetings. Now South Wales by 37, West Australia by 18, Queensland by 72. A number of trotting, pony and county meetings will also be reduced while unregistered meetings, will not he permitted.
Boxing contests of 20 rounds will ho allowed once a foitnight.
