Sept. 12 31. Kerensky; has issued a statement that the internal situation, is more serious than anticipated, but Government unanimously favours decisive measures. The people support the Government and have complete faith in the triumph of our cause. KORNIOFFS MOVE FIZZLING OUT. [“reuteb’s” telegram.] (Received this day at 1.30 p.m.) PETROGRAD, September 12. 31. Kerensky has issued a statement that KomilofE’s movement is rapidly Collapsing. The commanders on all front except the south wesetrn, have doclared fidelity to the Government. Some commanders of Korniloff’s columns have arrived demanding authorisation to arrest the leaders. Government lias taken energetic measures for the defence of the city and hopes that bloodshed will bo avoided. News from the Provinces indicates that everywhere there is a spirit of loyalty and fidelity to the Govemmont. Romanoffs residing in Petrograd have- been arrested. It declares ft Korniloff victory will bring Russian Democracy into subjection and Ukraine to a now enslavement. NEARING PETROGRAD. (Received this day at 1.30 p.m.) . PETROGRAD, September 12. General Korniloff’s advanced troops have -reached Gatchina less than twenty, miles from the capital.
