George Warburton, aged 50 attempted suicide by cutting bis throat early this moiling. The man arrived from Palmerston a few days ago.
THE TRAGEDY. , CONDITION OF INJURED. WANGANUI, Sept. 10. The hospital doctor states had the axe been sharp all the victims would have boon killed. In two eases the brain is protruding. Matson is still in a critical condition. Airs. Bonnier is in a lowstate. Bonnier cut his throat to the windpipe. Appearances point to Bonnier having slashed his throat and then walked to the river hank, with the intention of drowning himself, hut he returned to the house and again cut his throat. His recovery is doubtful.
