,J. Tmlehope (Mr Park.) v. A. D. D. Crawford, for failing to have his trust accounts audited. Defendant pleaded guilty. An audit had been made, but not hy~aTi accountant qualified under the Act.
The Magistrate said it was not in order. Convicted and fined £lO.
Police v. ,T. C. Lincoln, charged with failing to notify change of address. This ease was adjourned from last Court day. Sentence, was postponed on condition that defendant reports once a week to the police authorities at TTokitika-.
Borough Inspector (Air Park) v. J. A. Dowell (.Mr Wells) charged with storing benzine without a license* contrary to the Borough by-laws. The Borough lie found of) eases of benzine stored in a building in a right-of-way off Weld street. Defendant had no license.
Tn reply to Air Wells, the Borough Inspector staled be bad visited MrMalfroy’s residence and found twentyfive eases there. But be bad not prosecuted him. because be bad been so instructed by the Deputy-Mayor. A. A. Andrewes stated defendant bad since taken out a license. Adjourned A. A. Andrewes (AH Park) v. G. P. Rea (Air. Crawford) a charge of selling meat that was not slaughtered in the Hokitika Abattoir.
,J. .Jarman (Inspector of ATeat) stnron he had written to the defendant, warning him from selling meat that was not slaughtered in the Hokitika Abattoir. lie visited Ruatapu and found Mr Rea was selling meat.
.The Borough Inspector corroborated the .evidence of Air Jarman.
Owing to a mistake in the date, Air Park asked for it to he amended, which was granted.—Fined 10s and costs, including 21s counsel’s fee. Borough Inspector v. W. Jones (Air Crawford), a oh if rgo of allowing ten cows to wander.
' Information dismissed, owing to being laid under incorrect section. T. G. Fielder (Inspector of Factories) v. J. J. Mclntosh (Air Wells), charged with failing to keep wages, time and holiday book. Convicted, and discharged with costs.
