GREAT EFFORT IN AUCKLAND
AUCKLAND, Sept. 4th
The total to the war loan so far compiled is over £2,000,000 and several subscriptions have yet to come in. Ihe amounts passed through the hanks amounted to approximately £1 .'OOO.OOO, and the , Post Office £50,000. Large subscriptions were made by the Now Zealand and South British Insurance Companies, each £IOO,OOO, which are not included in the bank’s total.

War loan subscriptions'at the Napier banks total £410.000. The Napier Post Office handled £80,167, and other Post Offices £92,285. CHRISTCHURCH RUSH. CHRISTCHURCH, Sept. 4 Very bpisk war loan business was done at Post Office, the building bci„g invaded by crowds of people. The following investments were made today; 4A per cent, war bonds, £160,250; war loan, certificates. £29,332; Post Office war bonds £52.500; total for the day, £242,082.
