LIVE STOCK REPORT. At Preston Road, Grey mouth, on Monday, 51 prime cattle from South Westland and 65 sheep from the Grey V allev were yarded in addition to 25 fat sold direct ex truck during the week also from South Westland. Mark Sprot and Co. report the sale aa follows:—There was a full attendance of the trade, which competed keen ly for the prime beef and this entry was sold at prices considerably in adrvance of last sale. 40 prime bullocks made from £2O 7ii 6d to £l3 ss; for heavy £l7 12s fid to Clo 2» 6d for mediums; 11 fat hellers made £l4 to £l2; 25 fat bullocks sold ex-truck and made £l9 to £lfi 10s. The price per 1001 b, was quite equal to Canterbury values on the spot, without the cost, rnflt and expense of transit to Addington. A small entry of sheep (unfinished) did not meet with competition from the trade, butchers present preferring to do without mutton rather than pay 10d per lb for inferior stuff. j
