A Victoria has been awarded Skipper Joseph Watt, of the Naval Reserve. He commanded the drifter Gowawlea, which was attacked by Austrian light cruisers, • cabled on 22nd June. When he had closed to 1000 yards’ range, he ordered full speed,, and fought with his gun until disabled. He escaped and removed tho dead and wounded from the badly damaged drifter. Many other officers aro .honored for gallantry in the'same action. ; , Squadron Commander Savory was awarded a bar to his Distinguished Service Order for bombing the Qoeben at Constantinople on 9th June. refused to assist Austria.
