WAR IN THE AIR.
RATD ON VENICE
ROME, Aug. 17th. Austrian aeroplanes, at dawn on August 14th, dropped eleven bombs on Venice. One damaged the valuable ceiling of the splon of St. Mark. Another killed two patients and injured fifteen civilians ill the hospitals. Some fell in the Grand Canal, and. did no damage. Throe aeroplanes were brought down. NAVAL AEROPLANES RAID. LONDON, Ang. 17. •_ The Admiralty reports that the naval aeroplanes carried out a series* of raids yesterday and dropped many tons of bombs on the Ostend and Thourout railway station and tho Ghistelles aerodromes causing fires. We also attacked Engel and Middelkorke aerodromes and road transports by tho aeroplane’s gunfire. The machines have returned.
