We recaptured Langemarck and other positions. The enemy also penetrated near St. Julicn and at numerous points southward as far as Wameton. We regained the positions lost near Loos. . We took prisoner 600 men at C-aurieres Wood. We shot down sixteen aeroplanes.

TADMIRALTY PER WIRELESS PRESS.]

LONDON, Aug. 18,

STATEMENTS CORRECTED.

Router’s Telegrams.

LONDON, Aug. 17. The Press Bureau states: To-days’s German official message contains a* series of mis-statements. It as untrue that we attacked between the YpresMenin Road and the Lys' River, the former being on our right flank. The enemy did not attempt to recover Langemarck. A British staff officer from Langemarck at 6 o’clock this evening reported that we hold Langemarck, also a considerable length of the German position 800 yards northward. The enemy’s Communique reference to Poelcapolle is obviously intended to convey the impression that the British to reach an imaginary distant objectives. It is sufficient to state that the British gained all their objectives rjorthward of Lens on Wednesday and northward .of St. Julien on Thursday. . The statement that four Canadian divisions attacked on V ednesday is an exaggeration
