SEVERE FIGHTING.

LONDON, Aug. 7. East Africa official: After occupying- the enemy’s advanced positiona south-west of Lindi wo undecisively attacked the main position on the Mihambia. There was severe fighting •with considerable losses to both sides. We reached the Msindy River. In the Kilkwa and we are pressing back" the enemy towards Mahenge, a strong force being engaged southward.
