WELLINGTON, Aug. 4th
Lance Corpl. Samuel Frickelton, the New Zealander who has been awarded the Victoria Cross is a' West Coast miner. His mother resides at Blackball. Ho is aged 26. He served in the Fiftli Reinforcements and re-en-listed and left with the Fifteenth Reinforcements. Ho was wounded at Messines. Four brothers have been in the army one being killed and another wounded. Tho Defence Minister yesterday sent a telegram congratulating Mrs Frickleton on th© honour gained by her son.
