Tfftf KAISER’S PROCLAMATION.
Renter’s Telegrams. XugusT 1. TmfjJlaiser has issued a proclamation to the German people which states:“After three yeara of hard fighting we are resolutely determined on prosecuring our righteous war of defence to a successful termination. The enemy willl nevei‘ have the German territory to which he is stretching out hia honda. We are not frightened of the new big nations continuing to enter the war against us. “ Our enemies wish to see us weak and powerless at their feet, but they shall not prevail. They disdaineu our peace words but they did not know how Germany could fight. They plundered the Germans all over the world but they cannot extinguish the German glory. “Germany stands immovable, victorious and intrepid and will meet possible further hard trials with grave. mien full of faith. If the enemy • wishes to prolong the war, his sufferings will be greater than ours. “We must tirelessly toil and fightbut Germans may be assured that iGerman blood and zeal are not being gambled with for the empty shadow of ambition or schemes of conquest, but in the defence of a strong, free
Empire, in which their children may live securely.” In a second proclamation to the army and navy and the colonial troops, the Kaiser says: “The third year of war has ended. Our adversaries have increased but their prospects of victory are no bet--7 t e r. You crushed Roumania last year and the Russian (Empire again trembles under your strongest blows. Both these states sacrificed themselves for others and will now bleed to death. “You have braved the enemy- assaults in Macedonia and in the might battles in the West. You retain your lines firm. protecting the dear ones at home against the terrors of the devastation of war. “The navy has achieved good results and has threatened the enemy's Bea command and his very existence far from home. Our little band is defending the German colony against many times superior forces. S “We and our allies will also win victories in 1917. Ours is the will to final victory . The war is still being forced upon ua and we will fight for our existence in future with firm resolution and courage. With the growing problem our strength grows, It is invincible and will be victorious. The Lord God will he with u» in the field.”
