No more powerful artistic drama has been. produced by the -Triangle company than “The Sins Ye Ro.” the star feature in to-night’s great programme t 0 he screened at the Princess Theatre. The story is based upon “The Unwritten Law,” and the cynical attitude ana uterapees of an astute criminal lawyer in relation to the “The Law of Decency” as a plea in favour of a woman for killing in defence of her honour. “The sweet girlish innocence of -rue murderess does not help her victim any. This is his attitude until the day arrives when lie has .to defend liis own daughter from the crime __ of murder under the unwritten law. “It was the hand of God operating through the hand of an innocent girl” is nis cry in the defence of his child. IvcPnam In cpnjunction with Howard Dickman, Marjory Wil.son, and Margaret Thompson, are wonderful in the play, which can he described-as a whole the strongest triangle production yet filmed. “Hie Harvest of Sin.” the 7th chapter or “Gloria’s Romance,” shows Fraieaxi’s tragic end at the hand of a crazy father whose daughter lie litis* wronged —“Gloria” (Bjllc Burke) sees the murder of her lover. On Friday evening Mr. McKean \VIU introduce the talented artist Olga Petrova in the Metro Company’s melodrama “The Eternal Question” a picture of great splendour and brilliance. The story opens with Ralph Courtlancj (Mahlon/Hamilton) and Pierre Felix (Warren o|and) in their Club discussing “The Eternal Quesjtiop”—woman Ralph believes that birth and breeding are absolutely essential to produce a lady, but'Felix contends that he can get any woman accepted by polite society simply by giving ‘her a brief training and dressing her coirectlx. Bianca (Olga Petrova) who ekes out an existence as an organ grinder, happens along with her monkey and organ, begging pennies.-and sh© is made the subject of tlie experiment. She is trained and gowned aigl admitted .to the select circle. The way in which tile simple peasant “lords” it ever society as a Russian Countess, winning the" love of both the men making wager, the relentless pursuit by the Grand Duke Serbian and tbe daring rescue by Ralph are told in this thrilling tale of love and mystery, of which the final denouncement is the greatest surpri'sal of all. A further chapter of the serial “Greed” will also he shown.
