Messrs Matson and Co. report as follows regarding the above salts on Wednesday : Fa't Cattle.—There was a .medium yarding and the quality was about the average. Prices were well above prices, especially for prime .steers. Best steers sold up to £24 10s. medium £l6 Is to £l9; heifers £l3 5s to £l6 5s Cows £l2 t0,£14 Is. Store Cattle. —-There was a fair yarding and the demand was good, practically everything being sold except dealers’ lines with a big reserve. Three year old steers brought £lO IQs to £l2 2s fid; two year olds £8 to £8 15s; yearlings, good sorts and up to £6 10s for extra well bred. Fat Sheep.—-There was a very small yarding. Owing -to the, .factories closing. freezing -buyers were not. operating. However, the butchers wonoperating keenly, and the market was firm in advance of. last, week’s prices.
